In all honesty, there's not much to say.

When Dave & I began plotting to record PET ME, I very much went in with the idea, the premise of something called "Dirty Jesus" intact. When we began recording, however, our muse ran around wildly, resulting in what is undeniably our strongest disc to date. Yet as the sessions neared their close, the "Dirty Jesus" suite began to take shape, beginning with Dave's folk guitars colliding with dissonant atmospherics for Part I, a dark and strangualted cello/violin duet consuming Part II, and a multi-layered, complex, emotionally resonant climax building during the spectacular Part III. Lyrically, it follows the story of a young child named Jimmy turning away from his hopes and beliefs only to reject what he ultimately rejected in the end. Musically, lyrically, dynamically, there was nothing like it. Immediately after listening to it, we knew we had created our best work.

To celebrate the achievement, we are now releasing the Dirty Jesus suite as an EP, featuring an unreleased instrumental called "Super Death Angels", initially recorded as a Part IV but ultimately rejected for consistency sake. It's wild, crazy, and exciting, but doesn't just work with the unity of the first three parts. It does, however, deservedly belong here.
