Recorded over the space of two years from a variety of sessions, THE LIGHT follows 2012's LION EATER, their most popular album to date, downloaded tons of times on their Bandcamp and featuring the song "Save the Leaves", whose music video inexplicably got some over 25k views on YouTube, despite little promotion.
Thus, with multiple sessions to comb through, the band wound up completing 36 songs in their traditional budget-basement way, often taking single mono-input takes and manipulating them until they sound like textural, full-bore studio creations. With the most songs they had ever recorded at one time, the duo of Evan & Dave pared it down to a simple 11 track stunner, which Seth Cowan of electronic act Poor Doctor Awesome having noted that he "can't hear any influences on it," further proving the notion that 1> Evan & Dave are absolutely crazy, and 2> they continue to make music in their own realm, creating sounds that don't sound like much of anything else, but with a legit and powerful pop bent to their abstract and sometimes frighteningly dark creations.

Tasty, delicious, fantastic, and fun. They covered our song "Save the Leaves" [on the SWEET & FINAL single], and turned it into something magical. Same goes for them ... Corresponding Handpieces
For a guy with hardcore rock pumping through his blood, it's cool to see him open up his sound to organic, beautiful new styles, be they ambient or whimsical pop. A super-fun record. Corresponding Handpieces
We can't even describe the sounds that Ryan Reed and Jamie Wolfe make together, but it's a bit of a wild thing, avant-pop showcase that defies easy classification. Their discography is rather deep. Corresponding Handpieces
Cacophonous mash of noise, electronic sounds and vocals powered by energetic walls of drums. Listen loud, jump often. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 28, 2014
