After the marathon recording sessions for the band's eighth full-length, over 30 songs were stem-to-stern completed, leaving the debate over what to include fiercer than ever.

While several instrumentals were made, almost enough to account for an EP on its own, two of them were simply not deemed to fit the vibe of what eventual full-length STRANGE ANGELS was. "Rainladies" very closely almost made the final tracklist but its lilt of optimism was just a shade too much for the record's vibe. "Hexagonal Plinths" was also a close contender, and one of the first tracks made in the recording process.
